We are now in our final day of chemo, with one drug the nurses here call “the red devil” left to go. It’s a 48 hour regimen, and she should be done by tonight. There’s a waiting period to monitor her vitals, which means we should be heading home by Sunday afternoon. We are very relieved since Thursday we thought we might have been stuck here until Monday. Phew.
While she is very nauseous, overall her vitals are great. That means her body is handling the drugs well. Now we need your prayers and thoughts that the chemo works on killing the cancer. With CDS, it’s not a given that the chemo will work, so we are not out of the woods yet!
Coming up, she’ll have about 3 weeks off, and then her next round of chemo. Last night Amanda was finally able to eat some good food after not eating most of the day. Here she is digging into some guacomole:
